The Anubis card officially left the active CS2 map pool on July 16, 2025. Only 972 days have passed since it was added on November 18, 2022, which is the shortest time a map has been in the map pool in the last ten years, excluding the recently added Train and Overpass.
Anubis appeared in the pool to replace Dust2 and was a rare instance of a custom map previously created by the community returning to the game. Despite its interesting structure and unusual visual style, Anubis failed to gain a foothold in the tournament meta and was often criticized for its limited features at the strategy level.
For comparison, the duration of stay of other cards in an active map pool:
- Mirage – 4427 days (from 06.06.2013 to the present)
- Overpass – 3782 days (18.12.2013 – 25.04.2024)
- Inferno – 3089 days (from 03.02.2017 to the present)
- Nuke – 3075 days (17.02.2016 to present)
- Train – 2338 days (10.12.2014 – 04.05.2021)
- Vertigo – 2121 days (19.03.2019 – 06.01.2025)
- Cache – 2008 days (19.09.2013 – 19.03.2019)
- Dust2I (2018) — 1673 дня (20.04.2018 – 18.11.2022)
- Dust2 (2012) — 1628 days (21.08.2012 – 03.02.2017)
- Cobblestone — 1586 дней (18.12.2013 – 21.04.2018)
- Ancient – 1539 days (03.05.2021 to present)
- Inferno (old) – 1276 days (21.08.2012 – 17.02.2016)
- Anubis – 972 days (18.11.2022 – 16.07.2025)
- Nuke (old) – 842 days (21.08.2012 – 10.12.2014)
- Dust2 (2024) — 451 days (from 25.04.2024 to the present)
- Train (1.6) – 395 days (21.08.2012 – 19.09.2013)
- Train (2025) — 195 days (06.01.2025 – present)
- Overpass (2025) – 3 days (from 16.07.2025)
If we do not take into account the updated versions of Train and Overpass, the closest analogue of Anubis in terms of the shortness of presence in the pool remains Train from CS 1.6, which was in the active map pool from August 2012 to September 2013 – only 395 days.
